Product Description
The TriLite DL series is the traditional double-strut dock light: two struts carrying an arm that swings the light into a trailer so a worker can see what they are loading. It is the fixed-arm format, distinct from the DSDL swing-arm family and from the DL2 integrated lights.
The family is not one product. TriLite lists complete light assemblies and arm-only products, with several head technologies across the range, so two DL part numbers can arrive as quite different things.
Four configurations sit behind this page in the Supply Owl source file, and their exact specifications have not been read yet. Until they are, treat the model details below as the framework for choosing rather than a confirmed list of what is in stock.
What does the DL double-strut family actually include?
Two kinds of product under one family name. A complete light assembly arrives with the arm and a light head ready to install. An arm-only product is the mechanical half, bought when the existing head is fine or when a specific head is being ordered separately. The manufacturer's tables separate the two, and the difference is easy to miss on a part number. Check which one a SKU refers to before raising the order, because an arm with no head will not light anything.
How do you choose the arm reach?
By how far into the trailer the light needs to travel. A 24-inch arm covers the area just inside the door. A 40-inch arm reaches further down the trailer, which matters when loading long freight or working deep in a 53-foot box. Measure from the mounting point to where the light needs to sit, not from the dock face. One caution: Penn Tool's table labels a DL40-PLED as 24-inch, contradicting the manufacturer's 40-inch row, so specify from TriLite.
Which light head goes on a DL arm?
More than one option, which is why the full part number matters. The manufacturer lists several head technologies across the DL range, so output, construction and lamp type all vary by configuration. PL2 and HDL2 heads fit traditional arms through a DL2 adapter, which the manufacturer lists explicitly. That adapter is a real component in the order, not an accessory to assume, so confirm whether a given assembly includes it or whether it has to be added.
Should you order a complete assembly or just the arm?
Order the complete assembly for a new installation or where the existing head has failed along with the arm. Order arm-only where the head is sound and the arm is bent, seized or pulled off its mount, which is the usual failure on a busy dock. The saving is real, but only if the head you keep fits the arm you buy. Check the mounting interface and the adapter requirement first.
How does the DL differ from the DSDL and the DL2?
Three distinct systems that are easy to confuse. The DL is the traditional double-strut arm. The DSDL is the swing-arm family, which adjusts differently and suits docks where trailers vary. The DL2 is the integrated family, where the design and the ordering structure both differ from the traditional arms. Parts do not move freely between them. Confirm which system is installed before ordering a replacement.
What should you verify before ordering a DL dock light?
The complete part number, because it encodes the arm reach, the head and whether an adapter is included. What arrives in the box, since arm-only and complete assemblies share a family name. The mounting interface against what is on the wall. And the head specification, because the range covers several technologies and no single rating applies to all of them. Confirm wet-location suitability per head.
What is still unresolved on this family?
The four Supply Owl configurations have not been read, so the exact arm reaches, heads, adapters and package contents remain open, along with SKUs and pricing. Those come from Joe's workbook. Until it is available, this page works as a selection guide and a hub for the configurations, and it should not carry a purchase call to action on any specific model.

Customer Testimonials
Life-changing for my daughter with asthma. We installed these in her bedroom and playroom, and her nighttime coughing has decreased dramatically. The pediatrician even noticed improvement in her breathing. We now replace filters monthly religiously – it is the best $20/month we spend for her health.
– Jennifer M., Portland, OR (Mother of 8-year-old with asthma)
I cannot believe the difference in dust accumulation. We used to dust furniture near vents twice a week – now maybe once a month. And my seasonal allergies are noticeably better when I am at home. The filter replacement is super easy, takes 30 seconds. Wish I had found these years ago.
– Robert T., Atlanta, GA (Allergy sufferer)
We have two cats and my husband is allergic. These filters in the bedroom have been a marriage-saver! He can actually breathe at night now. We still have the cats (obviously), but the constant sneezing and congestion is gone. The filters definitely catch pet hair – you can see it when you replace them monthly.
– Sandra K., Chicago, IL (Pet owner)
As a property manager, tenants with allergies always complained about air quality. These covers have been perfect – affordable enough to install in multiple units, and the health benefit keeps tenants happy and renewing leases. I stock replacement filters and sell them at cost. Total game-changer for tenant satisfaction.
– Patricia L., Denver, CO (Property Manager, 40 units)
My son has severe dust mite allergies. His allergist recommended covering vents in his bedroom. These filter covers have made such a difference – his morning congestion is almost gone. The investment in monthly filters is nothing compared to what we used to spend on allergy medications.
– Michael S., Phoenix, AZ (Father of child with dust mite allergy)
