Product Description

The SkyBolt STLP-DCP is a compact LED strobe beacon that bolts to the machine and stays there. It runs anywhere from 12 to 36 volts DC, so the same unit suits a service truck, a lift truck or a piece of heavy equipment without checking which one you have.
The output is a quad strobe: four pulses rather than a single flash, which is harder to mistake for an ordinary lamp. Power draw is low and TriLite rates the STLP for continuous use, so it can run a full shift without a duty cycle to watch.
Five dome colors are available: amber, blue, clear, green and red. The body is rugged polycarbonate, the unit ships at around a pound, and TriLite describes the STLP as watertight when properly installed.

What is the SkyBolt STLP-DCP strobe beacon?

The STLP-DCP is the permanent mount member of TriLite's SkyBolt STLP mini-strobe family. It is small, it is LED, and it is built to bolt onto equipment and be left alone. Rugged polycarbonate construction handles the knocks that come with mounting a beacon on a working machine, and at roughly a pound it adds almost nothing to the structure it sits on. The LED source also means there is no lamp to schedule a change for.

What does quad strobe actually mean?

A quad strobe fires four pulses in quick succession rather than one, then pauses before repeating. The grouping is what does the work. A single flash can read as a reflection or an ordinary lamp catching the light, while a burst of four does not look like anything else on a work site. TriLite specifies the quad pattern across the STLP family, on both the permanent and magnetic versions.

What voltage does the STLP-DCP run on?

TriLite specifies 12 to 36 VDC, covering the range in one unit. A 12 volt service truck, a 24 volt tug and a 36 volt lift truck all take the same beacon and the same part number. For a mixed fleet that is the practical benefit: one line on the parts shelf instead of three, and a beacon pulled off one machine fits the next without checking the battery plate first.

Which dome color should you choose?

Amber, blue, clear, green and red, all at the same price. Amber is the usual default for general equipment warning. Clear gives the highest raw output because nothing filters the strobe. Blue, green and red tend to get used where a site codes by vehicle class or operating state. Color conventions vary by site and by jurisdiction, so set your own policy before standardizing across a fleet.

STLP-DCP or STLP-DCM: permanent or magnetic?

The beacon is the same. The mount is the decision. Pick the DCP when the strobe belongs to one machine and should stay bolted down, which also keeps the cable run tidy and removes any question of the beacon coming loose on rough ground. Pick the DCM when it moves between machines or covers temporary work. Everything else matches: 12-36 VDC, quad strobe, five dome colors, same construction.

Is the STLP-DCP rated for continuous use and all weather?

Yes on both counts, with one condition. TriLite states that the STLP family is rated for continuous use, so there is no duty cycle to manage across a long shift. The manufacturer also describes the unit as watertight and suitable for all types of weather, provided it is properly installed. That last clause matters: the weather rating assumes the beacon is mounted the way the instructions specify.

Where is the STLP-DCP used?

TriLite lists safety and utility vehicles, lift trucks, elevated work platforms and heavy equipment among the intended applications. The common thread is a machine that moves around people and needs to be seen doing it. The compact size helps on elevated work platforms and smaller equipment, where a full-size rotating beacon would be awkward to mount and would catch on low clearances.

Customer Testimonials

Life-changing for my daughter with asthma. We installed these in her bedroom and playroom, and her nighttime coughing has decreased dramatically. The pediatrician even noticed improvement in her breathing. We now replace filters monthly religiously – it is the best $20/month we spend for her health.

– Jennifer M., Portland, OR (Mother of 8-year-old with asthma)

I cannot believe the difference in dust accumulation. We used to dust furniture near vents twice a week – now maybe once a month. And my seasonal allergies are noticeably better when I am at home. The filter replacement is super easy, takes 30 seconds. Wish I had found these years ago.

– Robert T., Atlanta, GA (Allergy sufferer)

We have two cats and my husband is allergic. These filters in the bedroom have been a marriage-saver! He can actually breathe at night now. We still have the cats (obviously), but the constant sneezing and congestion is gone. The filters definitely catch pet hair – you can see it when you replace them monthly.

– Sandra K., Chicago, IL (Pet owner)

As a property manager, tenants with allergies always complained about air quality. These covers have been perfect – affordable enough to install in multiple units, and the health benefit keeps tenants happy and renewing leases. I stock replacement filters and sell them at cost. Total game-changer for tenant satisfaction.

– Patricia L., Denver, CO (Property Manager, 40 units)

My son has severe dust mite allergies. His allergist recommended covering vents in his bedroom. These filter covers have made such a difference – his morning congestion is almost gone. The investment in monthly filters is nothing compared to what we used to spend on allergy medications.

– Michael S., Phoenix, AZ (Father of child with dust mite allergy)
